Robust and waterproof

Sailteck™ uses proven sealing techniques to guarantee water integrity and tests at 20m submersion for 2 hours.  Sailteck™ uses exclusively high-grade thermoplastics, so you can be sure of zero corrosion no matter where you sail.  The silicon rubber keypad provides excellent tactile feedback whilst maintaining full water integrity through contactless optical switching technology.

Precise

Using the latest in MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) devices, Sailteck™ combines precision magnetometry with multi-axis motion sensing to provide a perfectly optimized balance between stability and responsiveness.

Easy to read

For effortless wind-shift detection, digit size and contrast matter. The 30mm digit height is the maximum allowed under class rules. The display features low multiplex fully reflective technology to provide optimal contrast. This means you can read the display even in challenging light conditions and with salt spray.  All liquid crystal displays work by polarizing light and this can cause problems when using polaroid sunglasses.  Sailteck™ has added an additional front polarizer which remixes the orientation of the light as it leaves the glass. This mixed polarization ensures perfect visibility at all times, whatever your choice of sunglasses.

Durable

Sailteck™ uses high durability toughened engineering plastics creating a lightweight strong housing which is resistant to UV.  The surface finishes are generated off-tool and there are no surface coatings which might prematurely age. Sailteck™ uses a high temperature automotive-grade battery technology to provide ultra-long life in all worldwide locations.

Hands free

At Sailteck™ we understand that sailboat racing is challenging and that you don’t have time for button pressing.  The user interface is pure simplicity, a single press of the GO button starts or resynchronizes the countdown, and the left or right arrows adjust the minutes. Setup is consigned to the shore and the transition to the racing displays happens automatically when the countdown reaches zero.  The only on-water operations are starting the countdown and reading the time-of-day.

Solar powered

With Sailteck™, you are always ready to go, there is no need to recharge the battery ahead of a race.  Solar technology continues to improve and Sailteck™ has selected the latest generation cells which have the best available energy conversion efficiency.  Cell performance is not just about efficiency though, low-light operation requires a wide spectral range.  Sailteck™’s monocrystalline cells provide reliable power in all weathers.
